I am a Senior Pre-Law Communication Major at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota with passion for writing, politics, and public policy advocacy with plans to graduate in the spring of 2025. Currently, I am a Public Affairs Intern at the Lignite Energy Council in Bismarck which is a regional trade association whose primary objective is to protect, maintain, and enhance development of our region’s abundant lignite resource. Works that I have published at the Lignite Energy Council include a weekly member-organization newsletter called the “Lignite Line” and Lignite Success Stories which capture unique, positive, beneficial stories from ND’s lignite mines and coal-fired power plants. During my time at the University of Mary, I have wrote multiple thought provoking essays which include advocating for new local policy, an original fictional narrative, the analyzation of an organizational response, and more. Finally, I have worked in multiple graphic design prgrams such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
I was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota and growing up I developed passions for politics, sports, and reading. When I was deciding where to go college after high school, I was blessed to receive an invitation to play for the University of Mary Men’s Golf Team and I gladly accepted it. As I was deciding what field of study I would ultimately choose to go into, Communication and Pre-Law courses encapsulated me because of my passion for conveying messages to various audiences in different ways - specifically ones that have to do with the law and politics. My time on the Men’s Golf Team has established important personal values for time management and commitment. Outside of school and golf I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, hanging out with my Golden Retriever ‘Scout,’ reading, fly fishing, and playing basketball.
